Every year as summer approaches, we see two types of DFW homeowners: those who signed up for the Comfort Club and had their system tuned up in March or April — and those who didn't and are now calling us in a panic because their AC stopped working on Memorial Day weekend. The difference in experience between those two groups is significant. This article explains what the Comfort Club actually is, what's included in each plan, and how to decide if it makes financial sense for your home.
What Is Comfort Club?
The NewRise Comfort Club is an annual HVAC maintenance membership for DFW homeowners. Instead of calling us only when something breaks, members receive proactive, scheduled maintenance — and the perks that come with being a priority customer.
Three plan tiers are available, starting at $149/year. Each tier includes a different level of service:
- Basic Plan ($149/year): One annual tune-up (spring or fall, your choice), priority scheduling, and 15% off all repairs for the plan year.
- Comfort Plan ($229/year): Two annual tune-ups (spring and fall), priority scheduling, 15% off all repairs, and a waived diagnostic fee on all service calls.
- Premium Plan ($329/year): Two annual tune-ups, priority scheduling, 15% off all repairs, waived diagnostic fee, and a filter replacement included with each tune-up visit.
Is It Actually Worth It?
Here's the honest math. A standard AC tune-up at NewRise costs $79. If you're on the Basic Plan at $149/year, you're paying $70 extra for priority scheduling, a 15% repair discount, and a relationship with a company that knows your system's history.
The repair discount alone typically covers the plan cost within a single service call. The most common repair we do in summer — capacitor replacement — costs $140–$180 without a membership. With a 15% discount, that's a $21–$27 savings. One repair per year and the plan pays for itself.
The priority scheduling benefit is harder to quantify but very real. In the hottest weeks of July and August, our non-member schedule can run 3–5 days out. Comfort Club members get seen first — typically next-day or same-day. If your AC fails on a 108°F July Friday, that priority is worth more than any dollar discount.
Who Is Comfort Club Best For?
The Comfort Club works best for homeowners who:
- Own their home and plan to stay for at least 2–3 years
- Have a system that is 5+ years old
- Want predictable annual HVAC costs
- Value not having to think about scheduling — they get called, they get taken care of
- Have experienced a summer emergency before and never want to repeat it
Homeowners with brand-new systems (less than 2 years old) or those planning to sell soon may get less value — though even then, the tune-ups support manufacturer warranty requirements at most brands.
May Is the Last Good Time to Join Before Summer
Joining the Comfort Club in May gives you immediate priority status before the peak summer season, and allows us to schedule your spring tune-up — if it hasn't been done yet — before the schedule fills in June. Members who join after June 15 often can't get their spring tune-up until fall.
